At Newborn Session at Home in Los Angeles – Welcome Asaf!

Tal & Sasha – Part II – Newborn Session with Baby Asaf!

I was so thrilled to receive the news from Tal and Sasha that it was time to schedule a newborn session! Little Asaf had arrived safely and was settling in at home. The great thing about documentary-style photography is that we’re not on a strict schedule – my priority is to work with you around the realities of a newborn’s life. Even if that means having to reschedule a few times and be flexible with timing! I show up when you’re ready and capture your life with a new baby exactly how you’re living it

Welcome to Your New Life!

The first several days and weeks of parenthood are a blur. Time feels undefined as days blend into nights and back into days. The baby is on his own schedule and parents are just trying to keep up, eating and sleeping when they can. Despite the haziness and confusion of shepherding new life through the world, there are so many joyful moments that deserve documenting. Tal and Sasha, despite being sleep deprived, were still laughing and soaking up the awe and wonder of their new person. I loved hearing the recounting of Asaf’s birth story with all the ups and downs of labor, delivery, and recovery. These foundational stories are such important parts of our lives.

I mean, just look at this sweet guy! The cheeks! The hair! It’s not hard to see how his moms are absolutely smitten with him.

We spent some time in Asaf’s beautiful nursery, inspired by trees, greenery and animals. The warm afternoon light spills in from the windows creating a cozy space. The shelves are filled with books and the bins are full of soft toys. His stylish wardrobe is just waiting for him to grow into it.

Awe and Wonder

Tal and Sasha are natural moms. They each bring so much warmth and love into their home, and you can tell that Asaf feels that in their arms. My favorite part of these sessions is getting to witness new parents growing into their roles. And we had to finish the session mirroring how we ended the maternity session just a few weeks prior!

The hardest part of a newborn session is the end. As soon as I put the camera away, I just know the baby is still going to be cute and do something worth capturing. But as he grows and changes, I hope to return to document more milestones and everyday beauty. Congratulations Tal and Sasha – your new life with Asaf is an absolute wonder!

If you’re expecting and want to document the sweetness of your baby’s first few days at home, let’s talk! I would love to create images that perfectly capture the realness of new parenthood in the comfort of your home.
